Other
The health of our patients and staff members has always been our absolute priority. To meet the new guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic and to provide a safe environment for our patients and staff, Dental Park has been continuously putting effort into updating essential protocols and gearing up with the most up-to-date equipment to treat our patients safely. Dental Park hopes that these incorporations give our patients reassurance that they are getting the highest standard of dental care during this post-pandemic era.
‘Social distancing’ at the office
The waiting area will be closed during the COVID-19 pandemic to minimize patient-to-patient contact. The patients will also enter with minimal presenting staff members. All the check-in and check-out processes will be held individually outside the clinic and at the operatory chair so the patients can complete their dental treatment and additional paperwork while ‘social distancing’ from other patients.
Medical Grade AirPurifier
Dental Park added a medical-grade HEPA filter air purifier in each operatory. Medical grade H13 TRUE HEPA (higher rated than regular HEPA) will help ventilate the operatory rooms before, after, and even during dental treatments, by filtering 99.97% particle removal.
Extra-oral Vacuum with UV-C Irradiation+ Plasma sterilization
Extra-oral suction is another addition to our operatory rooms. Extra-oral suction will help significantly reduce the risk of cross-infection by minimizing the presence of aerosols during treatment. The unit itself is equipped with HEPA+ activated carbon filtration with UV-C Irradiation+ Plasma sterilization that will purify the collected aerosol to minimize any airborne pathogens.
Our team has been trained on all new infection control protocols and safety guidelines. As such, we have added sneeze guards to our reception area and additional personal protective equipment (PPE) for our clinical team. This is to reduce the risk of transmission to our patients and team members.

Preventive Dentistry
Swollen, red, or irritated gums can often be the sign of a bigger problem like gingivitis, which is the first stage of gum disease.
What Is Gum Disease?
Gum disease is an infection of the foundation of your teeth, which is your gums and jawbone. When this infection goes untreated, it worsens and eventually destroys your teeth's support system, resulting in tooth loss. Gum disease is actually the leading cause of tooth loss in American adults over the age of 30.
So, if you notice symptoms like chronic bad breath that you can't get rid of, swollen gums, or gums that bleed when you brush or floss your teeth, it's essential to schedule a teeth cleaning and exam with your dentist right away. These are all signs of gingivitis or early gum disease.
Find Gum Disease Treatment in Dedham, MA
We can often help you reverse gum disease in Dedham when we detect it as early as possible. A professional teeth cleaning and improving your home care routine are sometimes enough to change your condition.
Your dentist also screens you for signs of gum disease during your six-month routine examinations, which allows us to detect problems as early as possible.
Contact your Dedham dentist at (781) 326-6260 if you notice swollen gums or other signs of gum disease.
Dr. Park and Dr. Lee understand that dentistry isn't always comfortable for everyone, especially those who struggle with fear or anxiety around it.
Our primary goal is to provide you with an exceptional experience whenever you visit our dental office in Dedham, so we offer dental sedation to help anxious patients feel more at ease.
Sedation Dentistry Options at Dental Park
Nitrous oxide is a gas delivered through an inhalation mask that provides a low level of sedation to keep you feeling relaxed and comfortable during dental procedures. It is safe for both adults and children, and our dentists can use it during most types of procedures. Best of all, nitrous oxide leaves no lingering side effects after your procedure, so you're able to drive and return to all your normal daily activities.
Oral sedation is medication delivered through a pill taken about an hour before your procedure. This is a deeper level of sedation, and so we ask that you arrange transportation to and from your dental appointment and plan to rest after your procedure.
Oral sedation leaves you conscious to respond to our dentists during your procedure but deeply relaxed, so you feel almost as if you're sleeping.

Invisalign®
Invisalign takes anywhere from several months to more than two years to straighten teeth, with an average of 18 months. However, some patients may achieve results in six months. The only way to be sure is to see your Dedham dentist for a comprehensive consultation.
Invisalign can address:
- Bite Misalignment
- Overcrowded Teeth
- Overlapping Teeth
- Twisted Teeth
- Unusual Spacing
- Midline Issues
The Invisalign Process
Invisalign before and after at six months typically means a straighter smile than when you started treatment, but the work may not be finished.
The first step is your consultation to determine candidacy, costs, and the length of time you’ll need to wear your aligners.
If you’re a candidate, we take impressions, and the Invisalign lab uses our results to create an ordered sequence of custom aligners. You wear each set in order for approximately two weeks, then move on to the next set until you’ve finished your supply.
You can remove your aligners during meals and to clean your teeth without eating restrictions and easier oral hygiene sessions.
Talk to Your Dentist in Dedham
How long will you need to wear Invisalign aligners? To find out (or if you have other questions), contact a dental team member to book a consultation with the dentist.
We offer financing options.
While Invisalign® is primarily designed to straighten teeth, it can also affect jaw position. Since Invisalign aligners gradually shift teeth into proper alignment, they can influence how your upper and lower jaws come together. This process may help some patients improve minor jaw misalignments and bite issues, potentially reducing discomfort or strain in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). However, Invisalign is not specifically intended to provide significant movement or correction of severe jaw misalignments.
If you have more severe bite issues like overbite, underbite, or crossbite, Invisalign can help by adjusting the positioning of your teeth, which subsequently impacts how your jaw aligns and functions. Consulting with an experienced provider is the best way to determine if Invisalign can address your concerns.
We Rejuvenate Smiles with Invisible Braces in Dedham, MA
If you’re seeking a high-quality dental practice for Invisalign in Dedham, Dental Park is proud to be a Platinum Invisalign provider. This designation reflects our extensive experience and expertise in helping patients achieve straighter smiles with clear aligners.
If you’re considering Invisalign and curious about its potential benefits and effects on your jaw, our team is here to assist you. Contact Dr. Taejoon Park and our outstanding team to schedule a consultation!
The length of Invisalign treatment varies per patient. However, many dentists advise that Invisalign treatment can take six to 12 months or more, depending on your unique case. Like with any dental treatment, there is no one-size-fits-all solution; every patient is different and has specific needs and tooth alignment concerns.
Some patients may only need to wear Invisalign for six months, while others may need to wear their aligners for a year. The only way to know for certain how long your Invisalign treatment will take is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Park at Park Dental.
For optimal results and to ensure you stay on track with treatment, we recommend wearing your Invisalign aligners 20–22 hours each day. You can remove the aligners to brush and floss your teeth and eat your favorite foods, which are a couple of the reasons why patients love Invisilagn.
When you’re not wearing your aligner trays, be sure to place them in a protective case. Never leave them in the sun or put them in contact with heat, like hot water or a hot beverage. Heat can warp the trays’ shape and impact your treatment results and timeline.
Looking for Invisalign in Dedham, MA?
Do you want straight teeth without cumbersome metal braces? Please schedule a consultation today with our Invisalign dentist in Dedham! Dr. Park can create a treatment plan that helps you meet your oral health needs and aesthetic goals.
Follow these directions for use:
- Place the aligner over your teeth by hand and apply slight pressure with your fingers until it is seated almost completely.
- Insert Munchies® EPS device into your mouth and position it between the upper and lower front teeth. Insert your upper front teeth into the larger of the two grooves on the Munchies® EPS device or your lower front teeth into the smaller groove.
- With your teeth engaged in the device, gently bite down on the Munchies® EPS device and work the aligner into place until you feel that it is fully seated, especially in the front of your mouth. This will take about 20-30 seconds each time.
- Once completed, move the ridged arm of the Munchies® EPS device into your mouth and position it between the upper and lower teeth in the side (premolar area).
- Then gently bite down on the Munchies® EPS device until you feel that the aligners are fully seated, especially in the back of your mouth.
- Focus on one area at a time and ensure that gentle forces are applied to all of your teeth, both upper and lower, front and back.
- Repeat this use of Munchies® EPS device at every aligner reinsertion.
Invisalign costs vary by patient and depend on the complexity of your unique case. Dental insurance sometimes pays for some or all of your orthodontic costs. We also offer monthly payment plans and are (at the time of this writing) running an Invisalign® special in Dedham! You can register for a free Invisalign consultation!
There has never been a better time to investigate Invisalign treatment for your smile.
About Invisalign Clear Aligners
Invisalign is a supply of custom dental aligners made from smooth plastic. They are virtually invisible and offer orthodontic discretion.
The first step is to consult with your dentist to establish candidacy. If Invisalign suits you, we plan your treatment, which can last for several months or as long as two years.
Following your dentist’s instructions for aligner wear during treatment is important. However, you can remove Invisalign to eat and during oral hygiene sessions.
You can also go to a special Invisalign website, upload a selfie, and get a preview of how you’ll look after orthodontic treatment.

With our special and convenient payment options, there has never been a better time to consider Invisalign. Contact our dental office today to learn more or to schedule your orthodontic consultation with the dentist.
Crooked teeth may impact both your confidence and your dental health. Teeth that are widely spaced or overlapped may be more problematic for you to keep clean with routine brushing and flossing, increasing your risk of developing dental problems like tooth decay, cavities, or gum disease.
Straightening your teeth has never been easier than with invisible braces in Dedham. Instead of enduring wearing metal brackets and wires on your teeth, Invisalign uses clear aligners to move your teeth into position gently.
You'll wear your aligners for at least 22 hours per day (more like 24/7), but you'll be able to remove them whenever it's time to eat or brush your teeth. Then you'll change your trays every couple of days, advancing to the next set in the series that is custom designed for you.
Most patients finish their Invisalign treatment at Dental Park about 6-8 months, depending on their specific needs.
Our dentists can meet with you for an evaluation where they'll perform a thorough examination and gather information to determine if Invisalign might be right for you.

Dental Implants
With regards to tooth replacement, dental implants are still the preferred method of most dentists. A dental implant in Dedham, MA, is made of durable materials that integrate into human bone. Once the healing is complete, the dentist will complete your implant with a dental crown.
Before dental implant placement, the dentist anesthetizes the area before beginning to ensure that the procedure is as painless as possible. Once the anesthesia wears off, you may notice some light swelling and discomfort, but it is extremely manageable and treatable with over-the-counter pain relievers.

Patients living with tooth loss understand how challenging normal daily activities like chewing and eating can be. Tooth loss may also cause you to feel self-conscious about your smile.
If you lose a tooth, what could be better than replacing it with something that's almost like your natural tooth? That's what a dental implant offers! It provides a natural tooth's look, feel, function, and stability.
Some other advantages that dental implants offer are:
- Protection against bone loss since an implant replaces your root and integrates with your bone over time to keep it healthy
- Implants are easy to care for because you can brush and floss them as you usually would
- Dental implants complement your smile with a ceramic porcelain crown that blends flawlessly with neighboring teeth
- Excellent longevity as implants can last for a lifetime with excellent home care and routine dental checkups

Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are thin shells custom-crafted from dental-grade porcelain bonded to the front surfaces of discolored, misaligned, or misshapen teeth. The non-invasive nature of veneer placement makes it an efficient, durable, and immediate long-term solution to a variety of cosmetic and structural issues, including:
Porcelain Veneers Can Address:
- Discoloration that is unresponsive to teeth whitening treatments.
- Minor dental chipping, cracking, or breakage (Note that while veneers can restore a natural look, any underlying chipping or cracking must still be treated by a dentist).
- Mild gaps or misalignment among teeth that don’t require orthodontics.
- Irregularly shaped (too large, too small, oddly-shaped) teeth.
- A "dead" or "non-vital" tooth, which has lost its blood supply and nerve function due to injury or severe decay, often appears discolored and exhibits increased sensitivity to pressure and temperature.
It's important to note that while dental veneers can provide a dramatic and immediate aesthetic upgrade, they are not a solution for underlying dental issues. Conditions like tooth decay or gum disease should be treated before considering veneer placement. Your dental health is our priority.

Root Canal Treatment
Many patients feel anxious when their dentist in Dedham, MA, recommends a root canal. The good news is that modern root canal procedures are designed for comfort and are nothing like the myths and stories you may have heard.
Understanding Root Canals
Root canal treatment removes infected or damaged pulp inside a tooth, eliminating pain and preserving your natural smile. Here's what to expect:
-
Perform an Exam — Your dentist will examine the tooth using digital x-rays to confirm the need for treatment.
-
Numb the Tooth — A strong local anaesthetic ensures you won't feel pain during the procedure.
-
Place Dental Dam — A thin sheet isolates the treated tooth, keeping it clean and dry.
-
Access Infected Pulp — A small opening in the crown provides access to the pulp chamber.
-
Clean and Shape — Specialized instruments remove infected tissue and shape the canals.
-
Disinfect Canals— A strong disinfectant solution thoroughly cleans the canals.
-
Fill and Seal Canals — The cleaned canals are filled with biocompatible material called gutta-percha and sealed.
-
Tooth Restoration — A crown or filling protects and strengthens the tooth
How Central Park Dental Ensures Comfortable Root Canals

- Compassionate Approach —We take time to address concerns and ensure your comfort

Think you need root canal treatment? Call Central Park Dental today to schedule an appointment.
If you're experiencing dental discomfort and wondering whether you might need a root canal, here are a few signs and symptoms to look out for:
- Persistent pain — The most common indicator that a person needs root canal treatment is severe and unrelenting pain in their tooth or jaw that worsens when biting or applying pressure.
- Temperature sensitivity — Prolonged and heightened sensitivity to hot or cold foods and beverages could signal that the pulp inside a tooth is damaged or infected and requires root canal therapy.
- Swollen gums — Swollen and tender gums around a tooth suggest an infection that may require a root canal.
- Dental discoloration — Darkening or discoloration of a tooth may suggest infection or trauma that necessitates a root canal.
- Pimples on the gums — Small, pimple-like bumps on the gums near a painful tooth could be a sign of an infection known as an abscess.
- Dental cracking or chipping — Cracked and chipped teeth are more susceptible to bacterial penetration that can infect the tooth’s inner “pulp” and require root canal therapy to correct.
If any of these signs are familiar, consult your dentist promptly for evaluation and appropriate treatment.

Teeth Whitening
The answer to this question varies significantly for each patient due to their lifestyle choices and how they care for their teeth. Most people need to update their teeth whitening every 12 to 18 months.
Avoiding tooth-staining foods and beverages helps protect a bright smile. Smokers and tobacco users should also update their teeth whitening more often. Certain medications can also impact tooth color.
One of the best ways to protect your smile investment in teeth whitening is to visit your dentist every six months for professional teeth cleanings. Your hygienist will clean and polish your teeth during this visit, which helps keep the stains at bay.
How to Avoid Tooth Discoloration
Understanding which foods can discolor your teeth will help you avoid the culprits.
- Black coffee and tea
- Red wine
- Dark cola
- Soy sauce
- Curry
- Marinara sauce
- Dark berries, like blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries
You don't have to remove these things from your diet altogether; however, drinking plenty of water when you consume them and brushing your teeth shortly after will help you avoid tooth discoloration.
